If you like to enjoy some off piste skiing, aside the groomed slopes, through powder snow, or hike a mountain and ski down through untouched nature, then you have come to the right place.
The gondola station on the Dachstein Glacier at an altitude of 2,700 m is the perfect starting point for many ski tours. Great possibilities for backcountry skiing and a number of ski mountaineering routes are waiting for you: the ultimate kick for advanced skiers! There are routes with analtitude difference of up to 2,000 m. The length of a ski tour can be up to 30 km.
Ski tours with starting point Ramsau plateau or Ramsau Alm region are also possible. Choose your route according to your level.
On a ski tour you might encounter highlight after highlight. The Dachstein glacier, with great panoramic views, set high above Ramsau and the Enns valley, is quite impressive. Untouched nature, scenic views, and deep powder will enchant you while surrounded by mountain tops in the midst of the seemingly endless high plateau.
No matter how demanding your chosen tour is – please do never forget that you are in an high alpine region, aside groomed ski runs. Please do not leave the marked route, and, if you ski on your own, try to join a group and make sure somebody knows where you are touring!
