Crisp winter air, glittery snow and maybe even bright sunshine: all of this just makes you keen on some outdoor experience. A winter hike is a great activity and does not require particular skills. The Ramsau plateau is the perfect place for winter walking: there is the Dachstein mountain range in the north and the Schladming Tauern to the south, the altitude of 1,000 m to 1,700 m and many, many sun hours even in winter. Wide, daily groomed walking trails let you discover the Ramsau area by foot, leading up to the alpine pastures. All together, there are 70 km of groomed walking trails, additionally there are the 60 cm paths groomed by ski doo.

Trudge through the deep powder – that is possible with snowshoes on your feet and poles in your hands! Ramsau’s ski and mountain guides offer guided snowshoeing tours daily, the necessary equipment can easily be rented. Snowshoeing is great fun, no particular skills are required and their are many routes for all levels.
